Short vid I didn't get around to posting earlier...

It's too bad I don't have any acceptable space in my apartment to take photos of what I've been wearing - that's why the only outfit updates for the past several months have been mobile photos from work.  This weekend I went back to where I used to work to fill in for two days which I was absolutely THRILLED to do considering it was an opportunity to wear two pairs of shoes I hadn't gotten to wear yet.  In my downtime I tried on all the cute fur pieces.  I'm admittedly obsessed with that red fox trapper hat.  The stole is a one off that was made for threeasfour, and it's made to look like an octopus - so cute, but obviously not the most practical accessory.

Got this green cosplay wig today and had to test drive it.  Not used to wigs this short, but I love it.

The orange faux fur from my senior collection (see more of it HERE and HERE) was worn by Le1f in his newest music video.  Too sick for words!

Just got these F/W 12 LD Tuttle for Helmut Lang wedge ankle boots so I thought I'd share an updated family portrait of my power bottom heels.  I do have eight other pairs of heels, but the rest are for drag - these are, well, my boy heels.

The pair I got is a runway sample, and the name on the sticker inside of them let me know who wore them in the show - Kati Nescher.  The last shape is similar to some boots Ann Demeulemeester has made (which I love), but the wedge is 100% LD Tuttle - fragmented and so skinny it's like a blade under your foot.  They also have stretch leather panels on the sides of the shaft so the fit is sleek, but not suffocating.  The quality is impeccable, as well - I'm always wary of super skinny wedges like this, but these are some solid motherfuckers.

edit:  I just saw some detailed photos of the retail version in stores, and the wedge is lower and thicker.  Yikes.  I wouldn't mind a little more comfort (these are steep), but the second you diverge from the original design you lose some of its essence.  If you're as obsessive about shoes as I am I'm sure you'd never notice any difference between the ones on the runway and the ones in stores... but I consider myself lucky I got this pair.

Did some shopping this week (oops) after finishing the part time work I was doing.  The standout pieces I bought were this pink marabou feather jacket and a printed silk chiffon shirtdress.  Both are completely breathtaking, but unfortunately photobooth does not do either of them any justice.  I actually also stopped by ODD. to get this blue lip tar they developed with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  I went to OCC's flagship first (which is two doors down from ODD.), but they were closed while packing most of the store's stock to send to Sephora.  Talk about corporate buzz kill.  I wanted to peruse their full selection of lip tar colors with a staff that actually knows about the product (i.e., not at Sephora), but I will just have to go back later.

Btw if you didn't remember, I like to match Pokemon to my outfits... so here we have Krookodile, Maractus, and Vanillite from the Black & White series.  I'd rather not admit how much time I spent deciding on the right one for each look, but I think everyone fantasizes a little.

LORDY.  Adult life, what can I say?  It's rough.  This week I did some freelance/part time work as a milliner's assistant.  After going to college for fashion design and practically living in the studios I imagined a few eight hour days doing hats wouldn't be too much, but this is very different.  I'm not blocking hats (never done it and it takes experience), but my fingers and hands are ravaged from the hand sewing.

So now I'm playing photobooth catchup.  Been stalking ebay like mad lately for both Monster High dolls (obsessed if you haven't noticed), as well as shoes.  Ironically, the only pair here from ebay is these kooky vintage steve madden sandals (which are the perfect clunky 90s shape).

What I wore last Friday for an early Halloween party - it wound up being the only time I went out for Halloween since the hurricane wrecked the transit system earlier this week.  Also got this suuuper cute Monster High Gloom Beach Frankie Stein doll today (with a chibi Trunks doll/thing I bought over ten years ago).

Since moving my closet out of storage I've been selling some things I don't get enough wear out of.  I knew right off the bat I wanted to get rid of an old shearling bomber, a rabbit fur, and a pair of boots... but this fringed fur coat is one I barely ever wear yet have held onto for three years.  At the end of my freshman year of college a friend gave the coat to me.  I guess she remembered me gushing over it that winter, and I'm sure she wasn't excited to lug this big coat home - either way, it was really generous and unexpected.  But now my closet is bananas so I'm going to try to sell it.   I've had numerous people tell me to keep it because it's such a ridiculous statement piece, but I really can't rationalize holding onto something valuable and space consuming when I will only wear it a few times a season.

Here's what I wore for my final three days of work.  The shoes I was trying on in the middle are from the Agyness Deyn x Doc Martens collab.  I really really really love them, but they don't come in black so I'm probably not going to get them.  The red is cute, it's just harder for me to wear.

Meadham Kirchhoff or "Made 'em Jerk off"?  Just musing here.

The faux furs from their F/W 12 collection (see my picks from the show here) are super cute.  Forget owning them, at around $7,000 the prices are much too high for anyone with a sense of humor.

At the beginning of the summer I lent some of the clothing from my senior collection to stylist Haley Wollens for a film Grant Singer was shooting with Sky Ferreira.  The trailer is out now, and you can catch a glimpse of my anime print long sleeve top and mini skirt at 00:53.  Very excited to see the entire film, it looks amazing regardless of my involvement!

Trying to dress somewhat more professionally at work - even though I'm only working one more weekend - which obviously translates to............ black.  I'm also a really erratic sleeper so I kept rolling out of bed each morning, too tired to put much thought into what I was going to wear.

What I've been wearing lately, some recent hair adjustments on my gurls........ and my second vlog thing.  It's not really a vlog, but I like using that word, it's funny.  This time you get twenty seconds.

all clothing vintage (in every outfit), alexander wang boots, doc martens, pony sneakers,  homemade speed choker and necklace

As a label with such a rich history in fur and leather I am always excited to see the goods at Fendi each season.  For S/S 13 there were these amaaazing little color blocked cube clutches with fur cube charms attached.  There was a healthy helping of geometric/color blocked clutches and totes, and I'm also loving the new baguette covered in pegs.

edit:  Okay, I reeeeally didn't want to do any posts like this because I originally wanted to only post one photo the cube clutches (so in love!!), but it quickly turned into a mass bag post (there was a lot to love).  Now I feel like I have to do more for accessories from other shows... but we'll see.

I emptied my storage unit earlier this week - thank god - but wound up being screwed over by my movers.  I'm not sure when I'm going to become numb to typical rude new york moments like that, it's always disheartening - to say the least.  Among the things I unpacked were my homemade speed necklaces... had to snap them all together over some faux fur.  Kewt kewt.

On the bright side, today I got my skeleton girl Monster High doll in the mail so I can finally share all three lovely laaaadies.  The hair was sooo mangled from the box, but I'm gonna fix it and get back with the results soon.  While I was at home earlier this month I remembered Jane from Sea of Shoes posting some Monster High dolls... and the obsession just now sank in.  I'll have to take photos of their shoes - the skeleton one came with these D2Squared spine pumps that are really rad..

The sweater with shredded effect sleeves is Alexander Wang (not mine sadly).

blood is the new black tee, vintage fatigues, homemade speed necklace, substitute trotter platform sneakers

What I've worn to work this week... pretty much everything is vintage, but the hotdog tee was clearance from Walmart (got it when I was home last week), the sneakers are by Substitute, and the Levi's vest I studded while I was home, too.  The dark, muted lavender faux fur coat is by Blackheart, and I wanted it last fall (see HERE) but never bought it.  Luckily, no one bought any of them so my boss gave me one today.

I don't stalk style.com like I used to, but I have been skimming through the shows every few days.  Proenza Schouler was my favorite from NYFW... it's all about the depth to each garment and the details so I picked out close up shots.  And of course, the color story is as on point as ever - I honestly don't know how anyone can commit to a black wardrobe when there are designers like Jack and Lazaro.

"Androgynous Pratt student documents his outfits that run the gamut from everyday college kid to flamboyant club kid. Anyone who throws on a pair of Balenciaga platforms or 9" fetish stilettos to cheer himself up is pretty awesome and entertaining in our opinion!"

"Dressing up is what William loves to do most. This young designer from New York doesn’t dress for fashion but just to have fun and enjoy himself like the big kid that he is. Both adorned as a man and woman, his blog isn’t your common “check-out-my-outfit” type blog. It’s a journey into NYC’s crazy nightlife with party outfits straight from the young creative/transvestite scene. Juggling Timberland homemade platforms, tie-dye t-shirts, camo baggy trousers and an orange furry jacket, his looks are absolutely bonkers-awesom, leaving us wanting more everytime. We strongly recommend that you check out his collection too . Made from Japanese anime babe-printed fabric, it’s pretty darn cool."

"I strongly believe in the comeback of Manga and will further explore its use in contemporary art and fashion. Most probably, 'sexualization' will become a core motif. In the first instance, I'd like to draw your attention to the reanimation of Anime by Dripping Lazers."
